Respirable fraction is the fraction, or percent, of the total dose emiited that is in a defined respirable range (often 0.5 to 5.0 microns). Respirable Fraction is a standard variable considered by the FDA and other regulatory agencies and is an important consideration in the determination of performance and safety of any aerosol delivery device.
